Guest Support Volunteers help new and returning shelter guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and supported during their nights in the shelter. This role focuses on assisting individuals who may need extra guidance with the check-in process, accessing basic supplies, and adjusting to the shelter environment
Here is how you can help:
- Welcome and orient new and returing guests as they arrive.
- Assist with supporting the check-in process in the shelter to ensure guests understand shelter procedures, including the lockers, laundry bags, and give a tour of the shelter
- Provide guests with linens, hygiene products, and other basic items as needed.
- Offer reassurance, answer simple questions, and help guests feel at ease in the shelter.
- Communicate guest needs or concerns to shelter staff promptly.
