Evening Shelter Safety Volunteer

Description

Evening Shelter Safety Volunteers play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for shelter guests. They assist with the evening check-in process to ensure all guests are accounted for and that shelter safety policies are followed.     

  • Greet and assist guests during the evening check-in process. 
  • Conduct daily belongings checks in accordance with shelter guidelines. 
  • Use a handheld wand to complete a brief safety screening for all individuals entering the shelter. 
  • Ensure shelter safety protocols are maintained while treating all guests with dignity and respect. 
  • Work closely with evening staff to ensure a calm, orderly, and safe entry process. 
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to shelter staff immediately.
